Liv Morgan has become one of WWE's top stars. The Women's World Champion recently named a massive legend as a huge inspiration in her career.
John Cena debuted on the main roster in 2002. Over the next two decades, The Cenation Leader became the face of the Stamford-based company, winning 16 World Championships. The 47-year-old legend is set to return this Monday on RAW to embark on his farewell tour. He will hang up his boot by the end of this year.
In an interview with Marca, Morgan recalled Cena's influence on her growing up. She stated that his "Never Give Up" catchphrase meant a lot to her and helped her in her journey to become a superstar:
"I've talked about this quite a bit. Growing up watching WWE, John Cena was one of my favorites and my heroes. His catchphrase 'Never Give Up' really resonated with me when I was a child. It meant a lot to me, and throughout my journey to become a WWE Superstar, that idea of not giving up was something I constantly thought about. John Cena has been a huge inspiration for me on my WWE journey," she said. [H/T: Marca]
John Cena could kick off WWE RAW on Netflix, according to veteran
While John Cena's appearance on the premiere of RAW on Netflix is confirmed, his role on the show is still subject to speculation. Former head writer Vince Russo recently suggested The Cenation Leader could kick off the historic episode of the red brand.
Speaking on The Coach & Bro Show, Russo pointed out that Cena would be the only option to start the show if not The Rock, claiming that casual fans may not know other superstars, including Roman Reigns:
"I mean, the only other way I think you could do it is Cena. That may be the only other way. If it's not Cena and it's not Rock, bro, a lot of casual [fans], bro, don't know Roman Reigns. They stopped watching a long time ago," he said.
Several superstars have expressed their desire to work with Cena on his farewell tour. It would be interesting to see if someone will confront him this Monday on RAW.
