Liv Morgan will defend her Women's World Championship against Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam. Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette recently expressed his desire to see The Eradicator squash the 30-year-old.
Morgan returned earlier this year to embark on her revenge tour after being on the shelf for six months due to an injury. Since returning, Liv legitimately injured The Judgment Day member, won the Women's World Championship that the latter had to relinquish, and even attempted to steal The Eradicator's on-screen romance, Dominik Mysterio. The two stars will finally lock horns at SummerSlam this Saturday in Cleveland.
On his Drive-Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette discussed the upcoming square-off between Morgan and Ripley. He claimed he would be "disgusted" if The Judgment Day member did not squash her opponent:
"I would like to say I'm gonna like this because Rhea is involved in it. But if Liv has more than four offensive moves, I'm gonna be disgusted by the whole thing because come the f*** on... But I wanna see Rhea. They got the story. Rhea's a superstar, a megastar, a shooting star, shining star for you to see what your life can truly be. But Rhea better win this f***ing thing," he said. Another veteran thinks Liv Morgan must defeat Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam
Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman also addressed the anticipated clash between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam on The Last Word podcast. He claimed the 30-year-old must retain her championship.
The former Interim RAW General Manager pointed out that Liv Morgan's character needs the championship more than Ripley's. Hence, he would like to see the company keep the title on the former Riott Squad member:
"To me, there are certain people, Tommy, that don't need a title. There are certain people that are just great characters and they can hold their own without giving them the championship. I think Rhea Ripley is one of those. So, she doesn't have the title, I don't think less of her. But for Liv to have the title, I think more of her. So, I agree with you, I would love to leave the title on her," he said.
Many expect Dominik Mysterio to play a decisive role in the Women's World Championship match. It would be interesting to see if Dirty Dom will turn on his Mami and side with Liv Morgan.
