According to a former WWE Superstar, Logan Paul is doing something positive for Cody Rhodes by feuding with him for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Ryback believes that Paul going after Rhodes' title was a good idea by the people in charge.
On a recent episode of Ryback TV, the former Intercontinental Champion discussed the feud between Rhodes and Paul. He explained that Paul's popularity is enough to make it work, despite the short-term build to the story. It would not have worked if it was a different superstar and not the current United States Champion.
"I actually think that's probably a good idea because two weeks is not a lot of time to really do a good build for an angle with anything. Logan just gets a lot of buzz and he's got probably the biggest social media following of anyone there. He is the US Champion and he's like whatever he's involved in gets talked about a lot and he is hated pretty well. I think that's a good matchup for Cody to keep Cody strong on the babyface side of things," Ryback said. [From 00:07 to 00:38]

The Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul match at the King and Queen of the Ring event in Saudi Arabia was supposed to be a Champions vs. Champions match. However, Paul did not agree to the stipulation, and the match will now be for just Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship.
Why did WWE tease Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul as title vs. title?
Dave Meltzer shared on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio why WWE initially teased a title vs. title match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul. Meltzer reported that it was just a way for Paul to get some heat by backing out of the stipulation, and there were no real plans for a Champion vs. Champion match.
"I asked when they did the first one. It was ambivalent and they very much talked about belt vs. belt. And I asked about it and they said it'll be announced on Friday and, you know, it's a story. The story was just to get heat on Logan for not doing it, not a story to do belt vs. belt," Meltzer said. [H/T: Cultaholic]
