Former WWE head writer Vince Russo cast some serious doubts over Bron Breakker's current run in the company. The 26-year-old star moved to RAW after the Draft earlier this year.
Breakker had been eyeing the Intercontinental Title ever since he moved to the red brand. He suffered an unexpected loss to the champ Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank for the gold. However, he redeemed himself by winning the championship at SummerSlam.
On the latest episode of The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo detailed how WWE has fumbled with Breakker. He felt it was easy to get the star over by having him decimate enhancement talent before winning the Intercontinental Championship.
However, the former writer claimed WWE destroyed his aura by having him lose to Sami Zayn.
"Let's use Bron Breakker as an example. Here's the formula - enhancement guys, enhancement guys, enhancement guys. What was the next step? Intercontinental Championship. Look what they just did. How many losses did Bron Breakker have before he won the Intercontinental Championship?" [From 9:40 onwards]
This past Monday on RAW, Breakker defeated Sami in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match. Despite being behind after the first fall, the second-generation superstar planted his opponent with several Spears for the final two falls, thus retaining the championship.
