On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Bron Breakker defended his Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso in the main event. The bout had an unexpected finish.
The former Bloodline member earned the right to challenge for the title after winning the #1 contender's tournament. During the bout, Breakker tried to hit the Gorilla Press Slam, but Jey evaded it and planted him with a Samoan Drop for a two-count. Bron took down his opponent with a Frankensteiner off the top rope and got a two-count.
The two WWE stars exchanged forearms, and Jey hit an uppercut. Bron retaliated with a jumping clothesline and successfully hit the Gorilla Press Slam for a nearfall. The champion hit Uso with a running spear on the floor and tried to do another one in the ring, but Jey Uso countered with a spear of his own.
He followed it up with Frog Splash and went for the cover, but Bron Breakker kicked out at the last second. Breakker tried to spear Jey into the barricade but ran into a superkick.
In the end, Jey sent his opponent through the barricade, hitting a spear in the ring and a splash to win the match via pinfall. The 39-year-old is the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Meanwhile, Breakker's title reign ended after 51 days after he won it at SummerSlam.
