WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long thinks highly of The War Raiders. Erik and Ivar recently won the World Tag Team Championship on RAW.
The duo delivered an impressive performance against Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on the December 16 edition of Monday Night RAW. Notably, The Judgment Day was barred from ringside and couldn't help Finn and JD. Damian Priest's interference allowed The War Raiders to hit the War Machine on Balor to claim the World Tag Team Championship.
This week on The Wrestling Time Machine with Mac Davis, Teddy congratulated the team for winning the title. He mentioned that the duo deserved to win the gold. The former SmackDown General Manager also noted that Erik and Ivar were vicious competitors in the ring and would also do well if the creative team decided to transition them into heels.
The WWE Hall of Famer explained that the newly crowned champions could be dominant heels who would potentially elevate the babyfaces chasing the tag title.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
"I'm so glad that they put the title on them [The War Raiders] because they fit them. Those guys; they look mean, rugged; they look like they can tear your head off. That's the kind of heels that you want, which makes it so much easier for the babyfaces to chase them because somebody's waiting just kill them; beat them. Can somebody please get them? That's the type of attitude that those guys got," he said. [From 1:13 onwards]
It will be interesting to see how Erik and Ivar fare as champions in the coming weeks on the red brand.
