Major name turning heel after 3 years to betray Cody Rhodes is already spoiled, says veteran (Exclusive)

Cody Rhodes has been the biggest babyface in WWE over the last couple of years. However, the American Nightmare was recently bashed by Vince Russo for spoiling a potential betrayal.

Rhodes has been in a feud with The Bloodline for several weeks. While he has received help from Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in this ongoing war, The Apex Predator was taken out by the heel faction a couple of weeks back on SmackDown.

Cody addressed the same during his promo on the blue brand this past Friday. The Undisputed WWE Champion called Randy Orton his brother, seemingly foreshadowing The Legend Killer turning on him down the line. He has been working as a face since 2021.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo called out Cody Rhodes for cringe promos. The veteran also stated that the Undisputed WWE Champion has already spoiled Orton's heel turn after three years with his over-the-top promo.

"Cody’s promos are cringe to me. They are absolutely cringe. I just watched SmackDown this morning and what’s he doing? 'Randy Orton is my brother. We’re like family. He got me my job.’ Well, looks like Randy Orton turning on Cody... You cannot give any more away. That is bad writing. It’s supposed to be the subtle things... when it happens, you’re shocked, and then you can go back and say, ‘Ah man, I should have saw [sic] this coming,’" Russo said. [From 29:55 onwards]

WWE has also subtly hinted at Randy Orton betraying Cody Rhodes as The Apex Predator was spotted eyeing Rhodes' championship multiple times. The duo have a long history between them and fans are eagerly waiting for them to feud.
