WWE dropped the first major hint towards a potential heel turn for Kevin Owens on last night's SmackDown. While reviewing the segment, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell suggested KO might be unhappy with Cody Rhodes for coming out late to help him this week.

Kevin Owens, as expected, continued his battle against The Bloodline and, by the end of the show, found himself outnumbered by the heel faction.

Following the main event, a massive brawl broke out, and despite multiple reinforcements, The Bloodline got the better of KO until The American Nightmare eventually made the save. There was a brief moment when it felt like Owens would hit Cody in the back with a chair before they shook hands.

It's an interesting phase in Kevin Owens' WWE career, as reports suggest his contract will expire in January 2025. While sharing his thoughts on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell felt WWE was acknowledging The Prizefighter's contractual status while also advancing multiple stories.

The former WWE manager further claimed that Owens could hold a grudge against Rhodes for not being there for the save in time, eventually leading to a heel turn.

"It's still a few months [until KO's contract expiry], but they are teasing it, so it's out there now. We've got to stop and think, 'Is Kevin pi**ed off because Cody was late helping him?' Do you know what I mean?" he said. [From 1:09:40 onwards]

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will team up at Bad Blood, and their alliance itself could potentially have significant consequences, including Kevin Owens betraying The American Nightmare.
