A former WWE Superstar recently shared a story involving Shane McMahon and a Hall of Famer. Stevie Richards recalled the time McMahon served as a producer for a segment involving The Godfather and actor Adam Sandler.

In response to The Godfather's comments about him on Insight with Chris Van Vliet two years ago, Richards explained the whole situation. He said he doesn't hold any grudge against the WWE legend because being a part of Right To Censor meant less money from merchandise.

Richards also clarified the rumors about him slapping The Godfather backstage. It was all part of a segment for Adam Sandler's movie and it was Shane McMahon's idea for Stevie to slap The Godfather, who was known as The Goodfather back then.

"Shane's telling me to slap him, he's telling me not to. If I say he doesn't want me to slap him, now I'm stooging him off. If I tell the Godfather, 'Well, Shane told me to slap you.' Now, I'm like in the middle. This encapsulates professional wrestling and politics and potential heat that you can't please anyone. You're da**ed if you do, you're da**ed if you don't and you're da**ed if you do it real lightly. So probably, I guess three takes of doing it and then Shane got so mad, he just kind of walked away and it was a take and that was it," Richards said. [14:35 - 15:06]

Stevie Richards reiterated that one of the possible reasons for The Godfather's hostility was the loss of merchandise money as a member of Right To Censor. Richards added that the Hall of Famer probably couldn't confront Vince McMahon, so he had to take out his anger on him.

Shane McMahon no longer under contract with WWE

It was confirmed by Fightful back in June that Shane McMahon was no longer under contract with WWE. It officially ended the McMahon era since Vince, Shane, Stephanie, and Linda all had no official role in the company, which is now owned by Endeavor.

Shane-O-Mac last appeared at WrestleMania 39 as a surprise opponent for The Miz. He tore his quadriceps seconds into the match and Snoop Dogg had to improvise. He underwent surgery and has reportedly fully recovered from it.

The 54-year-old star was recently linked to AEW after a photo of him with Tony Khan surfaced online. However, there's no confirmation if he signed a contract or if he's looking to have a role backstage.
