The collaboration between WWE and TNA is garnering a lot of love from both pro wrestlers and fans. Interestingly, The Stamford-based promotion’s NXT division saw the debut of another popular TNA star in a Battle Royal match. Adding to the shock value, he lost the match almost as soon as it started.
Joe Hendry had been teasing a potential WWE appearance for a few weeks via his social media posts. The 36-year-old received a big pop from fans in the arena when he made his entrance and said his iconic line, "Say his name and he appears."
This naturally drew almost everyone’s attention to him, making him a primary target. After all, the winner would qualify to challenge Trick Williams for his NXT Championship.
Joe Hendry kicked the match off by making the first move but was instantly ganged up on by all the participating wrestlers. After a few seconds of struggle, Hendry was finally thrown over the top rope by Frankie Kazarian and Myles Borne.
This left Joe Hendry both defeated and fuming since he was the first fighter to get eliminated in the match. The former TNA Digital Media Champion stared hard at Kazarian and screamed, "This isn't over!" This could mean that Hendry will make more WWE appearances in the future.
