WWE fans recently came to know that plans regarding a championship match were changed from what they originally were. According to legendary journalist Bill Apter, this was a necessary step considering the circumstances.
The match in question was Finn Balor vs Gunther, with the World Heavyweight Title at stake. The two had sparked a rivalry between each other after Finn had attacked Damian Priest at Survivor Series, allowing Gunther to retain his belt.
However, The Ring General was not pleased with the interference, leading to him hitting Finn as well. This eventually led to a title match being booked between the two at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, which was recently changed to a Triple Threat to include Priest as well.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Bill Apter stated that Gunther battling Balor was not a "billboard type of match."

"My feeling for that was that I don't think Gunther against Finn Balor, as great as Finn is, is a billboard type of match. And I think they had to add another facet into it which is why Damian Priest is in there. I do think that because this is the comeback of Saturday Night's Main Event, they are not gonna take the belt off of him. Gunther. Because he looks like a champion, he acts like a champion, this is what you want your World Champion to look like. " [20:57 onwards]
For now, it remains to be seen how the match will be booked by WWE.
