WWE Superstar Gunther had a successful night at the 2024 Survivor Series: WarGames. Meanwhile, an NXT star expressed interest in facing The Ring General between the ropes, amidst a pool of other wrestlers vying for the opportunity.

The Imperium member put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Damian Priest at the Premium Live Event in Vancouver, Canada on November 30, 2024. Thanks to a little help from The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, the Austrian native retained his title.

Later, on Monday Night RAW, Gunther offered Dominik Mysterio a match instead of The Prince. After The Ring General defeated Dirty Dom, Finn Balor brutally laid out the World Heavyweight Champion.

Elsewhere, during an appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, the current WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams stated he would like to face Gunther in a dream match. The Anointed One claimed he was looking forward to that day:

"The one who I think, I'll have the best feud with, a styles-clash; I like Gunther. I hope we get to see each other [in the ring]. I think he has what it takes to bring out a side of Trick Williams that people haven't really seen before. So, I'm looking forward to that day," he said. [From 20:53 to 21:14]

Gunther's next challenger for World Heavyweight Title announced after WWE RAW

As mentioned earlier in this article, The Demon targeted Gunther on this week's Raw. For those unaware, Finn Balo has only held a world title once in WWE (the Universal Championship in 2016) and was forced to relinquish the title due to a shoulder injury.

Following the segment on RAW, WWE announced a blockbuster match for Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14th, which will feature Gunther vs. Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It remains to be seen if The Judgment Day star will dethrone The Ring General and have his second run as the World Champion in the Stamford-based promotion.
