CM Punk has cost Drew McIntyre several opportunities to win the World Heavyweight Championship ahead of WWE SummerSlam. A wrestling veteran now thinks another top superstar could accidentally cause The Scottish Warrior to lose a potential match against The Best in the World at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
The veteran in question, Matt Morgan, on the Gigantic Pop podcast, discussed the possible scenarios for a CM Punk match against McIntyre at SummerSlam following the rumors that suggested Seth Rollins would be the special guest referee.
The Visionary was feuding with Punk right after the latter's return to WWE. However, their feud was put on hold after the 45-year-old legend suffered an injury at the hands of Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble. Since then, Punk and McIntyre have been engaged in a heated feud. Nevertheless, the Chicago native's interference cost both The Scottish Warrior and Rollins their opportunities to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the Triple Threat Match at Money in the Bank recently.

After McIntyre cashed in his MITB contract, which he had won earlier that night, the singles championship bout between Rollins and the Damian Priest, became a three-way affair. El Campeón picked up the win pinning McIntyre, thanks to Punk's antics. This outcome left both the Visionary and The Scot outraged at The Second City Saint.
Since Punk has yet to get a win since his comeback, Morgan claimed The Best in the World needs to get one against McIntyre. However, he pointed out that a loss would do McItnyre no favors. Hence, he suggested that Rollins attempt to sc*ew Punk the match but accidentally end up costing Drew, instead.
"I think he [Punk] needs to get a win obviously but I just don't know if it does any favors to have Drew lose. So, I think if Seth is the referee, there's some smart sh*t that can happen where Seth's attempts to f**k over CM Punk fails and f**ks over Drew," he said. [20:58 - 21:15]
Drew McIntyre should steal CM Punk's dog, says ex-WWE writer
Over the past several months, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have taken multiple shots at each other. Former WWE head writer, Vince Russo thinks The Scottish Warrior should make another unexpected move to hurt his rival.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, Russo suggested that McIntyre kidnap Punk's dog and hold it hostage in order to get under Punk's skin.
"Bro, I swear to God, if I'm writing that television, Drew's kidnapping the dog. He's holding the dog hostage. He's feeding the dog bad food like ice cream and all kinds. Bro, I am doing that in a heartbeat. Tomorrow, I am doing that, bro," said Russo. [11:13 – 11:33]
While McIntyre is still suspended after his altercation with Adam Pearce following his loss at WWE Money in the Bank and refusing to apologize to the referees he put his hands on last Monday on RAW, CM Punk will return to the red brand this Monday.
