Very few WWE Superstars have earned a clean victory over John Cena when The Leader of the Cenation was the promotion's face. Recently, Kevin Owens reflected on his win over The Franchise Player when he debuted on the main roster.
In 2015, Kevin Owens appeared on Monday Night RAW as the NXT Champion and entered a feud with John Cena, who was the United States Champion at that time. In the coming months, the two exchanged victories over each other before going their separate ways.
In a video titled WWE: Retrospective, The Prizefighter reflected on his debut match against John Cena at Elimination Chamber 2015. During the interview, Owens spoke highly of The Leader of the Cenation and stated getting a win over the star was almost unseen at the time.
"Yeah, so the match was one thing, and obviously beating John [Cena] as clean as a whistle at the time was really almost unseen. It wasn't something that would happen very often. And there's more to it too. I don't look like the typical WWE wrestler. I kind of stuck out like a sore thumb at the time," Owens said. [From 06:05 to 06:30]

John Cena helped Kevin Owens against The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown
In 2022, Kevin Owens restarted his feud with Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown and crossed paths with The Bloodline. However, the landscape was different as Sami Zayn had become an honorary Uce, and The Prizefighter had issues with him in the past.
After losing the WarGames match to The Bloodline at Survivor Series, Kevin Owens returned to Friday Night SmackDown and continued on his path to claim the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns.
Later, The Tribal Chief and the Honorary Uce agreed to face The Prizefighter in a tag team match on the year's final episode. To everyone's surprise, John Cena appeared on the Titantron and decided to team up with Kevin Owens for a tag team match against The Bloodline's Reigns and Zayn.
The match occurred in the main event of SmackDown, and Owens and Cena won the match. It'll be interesting to see if the two former rivals cross paths in 2025 when The Leader of the Cenation returns for his final run.
