A top WWE Superstar lost his championship at Survivor Series: WarGames last Saturday. Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. recently claimed the star's career was negatively affected by The Rock's comeback earlier this year.
LA Knight has been one of the most popular WWE Superstars over the past two years. However, Magnum T.A. suggested that The Megastar's buzz has declined ever since The Final Boss returned. Although the 42-year-old won the United States Championship at SummerSlam, he dropped it to Shinsuke Nakamura last Saturday at Survivor Series: WarGames.
Speaking on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast, Magnum T.A. stated that Knight never recovered after The People's Champion's return. The veteran pointed out that The Megastar never regained his momentum.
"Just when you look at the last 12 months of LA Knight and look at how strong he was coming along before The Rock came back. And they were buzzing on him. He was working these people. They were chanting his name. And it was like he never really recovered from The Rock coming back. You know, he never regained that momentum, and I think they absolutely needed to make a change," he said.
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old criticized the clean finish of the United States Championship match in Canada, claiming the company should have been more vicious so that Nakamura could appear as ''a ninja killer or an assassin.''
"But if I had to do it, I would've done it with some, just something so vicious to make Nakamura like a ninja killer or an assassin. Something just besides just that. I think he's too capable and too good not to add a little bit of imagination to that finish," he added. [23:25-24:17]
WWE veteran thinks LA Knight is legitimately ''pissed off'' after losing the United States Title
On the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, WWE veteran Jonathan Coachman addressed LA Knight's defeat against Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames.
The former Interim RAW General Manager claimed that The Megastar was legitimately ''pissed off'' by the Triple H-led creative team's decision to take the title off him.
"I guarantee he is pissed off tonight. He's like, 'Man, as we head into the biggest year in the history of the company, he's losing his title four weeks before that happens.' So, he's gonna be a forgotten guy. That's just the way it works. When Netflix starts and SmackDown starts on USA, LA Knight will not be a big part of the plans, and that s**ks because I think he should be a big part. I love that guy!" he said.
After losing the United States Championship, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Megastar in WWE.
