Recently, multi-time World, Tag Team, and United States Champion Sheamus declared becoming Grand Slam Champion his ultimate goal, for which he vowed to win the Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus has won multiple titles in the Stamford-based promotion, whether as The Celtic Warrior or as a fella of The Bar alongside Cesaro.

However, he's yet to become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE as he's not captured the Intercontinental Championship in the past 15 years.

In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the veteran was asked about his goal for 2025. Sheamus stated his ultimate goal is to become a Grand Slam Champion in the Stamford-based promotion, which he hasn't been able to do in years. Moreover, he wants to win the Intercontinental Championship to complete the list.

"Ultimate Grand Slam Champion. It's basically the first one to win everything. It's true King of the Ring as well is in there, Rumble, all the rest of them. Jesus. I was almost one of the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champions too but Big Show messed that up, but I was close. I think I'm like the third longest, whatever. But, yeah, it's been a hell of a ride. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that I'm going into my 18th year with the company," Sheamus said. [H/T - CVV]

Sheamus lost to Bron Breakker at WWE Survivor Series 2024

Last year, Bron Breakker won the Intercontinental Championship from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam 2024 and lost to Jey Uso in a couple of weeks. However, he recaptured it from Main Event Jey when Solo Sikoa's Bloodline interfered and helped him.

Meanwhile, the division was heating up as Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser went after each other for weeks and exchanged victories as they eyed the workhorse title on Monday Night RAW. After a brawl, Adam Pearce made it official and announced a Triple Threat title match at WWE Survivor Series 2024.

During the match, the Celtic Warrior had the champion down for three, but Kaiser removed the referee from the equation. In the end, Breakker retained his Intercontinental Championship, and Sheamus now has to earn his way back to the top.
