Triple H and Shawn Michaels are evidently hunting for talents outside to sign with WWE with many upcoming international shows in mind, while at the same time retaining the key players in the game with aplomb. One of the most significant names in the women's division of the last decade is The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka.
She was sidelined with a knee injury and kept off television since May. While there is no word yet on Asuka's in-ring return, it appears she will accompany Damage CTRL in the upcoming event in Osaka, Japan. It was reported that Japanese legend Meiko Satomura will appear at these events. Satomura last wrestled for WWE in March 2023. She is booked to team up with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill to take on Damage CTRL in a Six-Woman Tag Team contest.
Asuka is also listed for the event in Osaka. She is not advertised to wrestle, but simply as part of her faction. The hometown favorite's appearance will surely entice fans to buy tickets to the event.

Belair and Cargill won the Women's Tag Team Championship at Backlash in May from Asuka and Kairi Sane, which was The Empress of Tomorrow's last match prior to taking time off. The former NXT Women's Champion's last world title reign came in last year when she ended The EST's record-setting reign at 420 days and held the championship till SummerSlam.
Sonya Deville names Asuka as a dream opponent in WWE
Sonya Deville recently returned to WWE after suffering from an injury last year. She is currently working on RAW and is slowly building back up as a formidable foe, joining forces with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.
During a recent conversation on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Deville disclosed that if it were up to her, Asuka is one athlete she wishes to step into the ring with. Although they have faced each other many times, none of them were televised, which makes her want the bout even more, with a storyline:
"I’ve had a million matches with her but not a lot televised, and never a singles televised to my knowledge. Asuka is one of my favourite opponents. We would have awesome matches down in NXT seven years ago, eight years ago on live events and road loops. And it was my favourite match to this day, but we never got an angle on TV," Deville said.
The Empress of Tomorrow remains one of the biggest names for WWE in the international market. When she will make her in-ring return bears watching.
Meanwhile, a recent report stated that Shawn Michaels made an irresistible offer to Stephanie Vaquer knowing that she was about to close an AEW deal, which led to her signing to WWE. She will join NXT soon.
