Maryse reveals why she would not return to WWE

Former WWE Divas Champion Maryse recently explained why she would not return to full-time wrestling. The Canadian star has competed in only a handful of matches after she was released from the Stamford-based company in 2011, only to be brought back later in 2016.

While the 41-year-old has made several sporadic appearances alongside her real-life husband, The Miz, she wrestled her last wrestling bout at the 2022 Royal Rumble. She teamed up with the A-lister to take on Cope (fka Edge) and Beth Phoenix in a Mixed Tag-Team match, which ended with the former AEW TNT Champion pinning the two-time Grand Slam Champion to win the contest.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Maryse revealed that she stepped away from professional wrestling to prioritize her kids. She said it makes her happy to be there for her two daughters with The Miz. Despite her love for business and desire to be a WWE Superstar, The Sultry Diva chose to be with her children.

"As much as we love what we do, the kids are now priority and number one. So we have to prioritize them in every single aspect. […] Especially as a woman, it’s difficult with two kids. I can’t travel the way [I used to] […] And then I don’t want to. I want to be there for my kids. And that’s what makes me happy. I want to go to bed at night and know that I’m in the same house as my kids, so as much as I love the business — I miss it — I choose my kids," she said. [H/T: PEOPLE]

Current WWE champion pushes for a match with Maryse

SmackDown Superstar Chelsea Green defeated Michin at Saturday Night's Main Event to become the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion. The Hot Mess recently asked the wrestling promotion to book her in a match against Maryse.

Chelsea Green recently took to her X/Twitter account to post a picture of herself sharing space with her fellow Canadian. With The Miz standing in the background, Maryse appears to be taking the title off the champion.

"BOOK IT @WWE. @MaryseMizanin vs The US Champ," she wrote.
