Ever since Big E was heartbreakingly kicked out of The New Day on RAW, fans have been wondering what's ahead for the former WWE Champion. After weeks of uncertainty, his next appearance for the promotion has officially been confirmed.

Big E is among the most beloved wrestlers of the past decade, who slowly emerged from the tag team division to become a legitimate main eventer. However, as fate would have it, a neck injury in March 2022 halted his momentum and indefinitely put him on the shelf. The 38-year-old hasn't wrestled since then, and the recent updates, too, have painted a grim picture of his in-ring future.

However, WWE brought him back for The New Day's 10th anniversary celebrations earlier this month, where he was booted out of the group by his former stablemates Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Now, Big E's next appearance has been confirmed for the post-show event of RAW's blockbuster debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Joe Tessitore announced on this week's episode of RAW that he, alongside Wade Barrett and the former New Day member, would be hosting the post-show event.

Big E opens up about his recovery amid uncertain WWE in-ring future

A few days back, in an interview, Big E admitted that he still wasn't cleared to make a return to the squared circle. The former WWE Champion, however, clarified that he wasn't in any pain and didn't require any more surgeries. He also mentioned how risky his neck injury was and that he was grateful to have recovered.

"I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven't been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great and don't have any issues, nothing like that. Didn't need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I've been out since. I'm grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that," he said.

Even if Big E never gets to wrestle again in the company, his accomplishments over the years have made him a guaranteed future WWE Hall of Famer.
