Cody Rhodes has had several feuds this year, including one with a massive WWE legend. A former WWE employee now thinks that legend will return in January to go after The American Nightmare.
The legend in question is none other than The Rock. Although The Final Boss initially returned earlier this year to fight his cousin, Roman Reigns, at WrestleMania, the plans changed following backlash from fans over Rhodes' position. Instead, Rock joined The Bloodline and feuded with The American Nightmare and Seth Rollins, setting up a historic tag team match at this year's Show of Shows, which saw him and Reigns defeating their opponents after he pinned the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
After failing to help Reigns retain his title on Night Two of WrestleMania 40, The Rock confronted Rhodes on the following episode of RAW. He promised the 39-year-old to go after him upon his return from his current hiatus. Speaking on the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci predicted that The Final Boss would return in January to target Rhodes:
"I don't think Rock's gonna show up at Survivor Series. [You don't think so?] No, because of his movie, the part two of [Moana]. I don't think he's showing up until January and that's where he'll pick up with Cody I think," he said. [From 08:21 to 08:34]
Cody Rhodes will team up with Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood
Since The Rock went on hiatus, many things have changed in the Stamford-based company. As Solo Sikoa took over The Bloodline, he is now feuding with the Original Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed leader of The Bloodline has also been targeting Cody Rhodes.
At Bad Blood, The American Nightmare will team up with the Original Tribal Chief to square off against Sikoa and his personal Enforcer, Jacob Fatu, in a tag team match. On the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, Tommy Carlucci predicted the result of the anticipated clash:
"You know something's gonna happen with The Bloodline. They're gonna interfere with that match. I don't see Cody or Roman going over at all. But if they extend this to Survivor Series with Cody on Roman's team," he said.
Many fans expect The Rock to get involved in the current Bloodline storyline. It would be interesting to see if he will return to play a role in the angle and which side he would be on.
