A WWE Hall of Famer recently departed the Stamford-based company after their contract expired. Booker T now believes that legend was just a step away from joining AEW.

The wrestler in question is none other than Beth Phoenix. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The Glamazon recently confirmed that she was now a free agent after spending nearly two decades with the Stamford-based company. While the 43-year-old's husband, Adam Copeland (fka Edge), works in AEW, Hall of Famer, Booker T predicted that the four-time WWE Women's Champion could reunite with him in Tony Khan's promotion.

Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T lauded the legend on her WWE career of 17 years, where she had started as just a developmental talent. The veteran claimed that Pheonix signing with AEW was as simple as Copeland making just one phone call for the HOF couple to work together again.

"Beth Phoenix is now a free agent. She's no longer part of WWE. I mean, she had a hell of a career, started in the developmental system, FCW, back in 2007 and just wrapping it up that's a hell of a career, 17 years with the WWE. And I'm sure with Edge being over there in AEW, all he has to do is make a phone call and boom, the Hall of Fame couple will be back together again. So, that's the way I see that," he said. Will WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix return to in-ring competition?

Beth Phoenix initially retired from in-ring competition 12 years ago. Nevertheless, she has made several sporadic appearances since then, competing in multiple matches. The Glamazon last competed in February 2023 when she teamed up with her husband to defeat Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley at Elimination Chamber.

In her interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, the Hall of Famer addressed the possibility of returning to in-ring competition. The legend said that when she had initially hung up her boots she threw the word "retire" around a lot because she wanted to focus on having a family. A little over a decade since then, the Glamazon admitted that being 'retired' in the wrestling business was difficult and she would be open to opportunities if they were feasible.

"I don't know. It's really hard to say you're retired, when I left in 2012 that was the word I threw around a lot. I'm retired, I'm retired. Because I wanted to have a family and I knew for myself that wasn't going to be in congruence to perform and to have kids, I needed to devote myself to the kids at that time. I give the age-old cliche answer that everybody hates, never say never. But it really just depends on the opportunities and what suits our family, that's really it," she said.

Phoenix is considered one of the biggest female legends in WWE history. It would be interesting to see if she will write a new chapter in her wrestling career by joining her husband in AEW.
