A WWE legend is open to returning to the company four years following his release. Nevertheless, he clarified that his comeback would only happen under two conditions.
The legend in question is Kurt Angle. The Olympic Gold Medalist discussed on The Kurt Angle Show about potentially returning to the company in a managerial capacity. The six-time world champion retired from in-ring competition following his defeat to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 and transitioned into a backstage producer. However, the company released him due to budget cuts four years ago.
As Angle revealed he would be open to playing the new role, the former WWE Champion claimed he would do it under two conditions, being booked in the right program and receiving a satisfying offer.
"Would I consider managing? Yeah, it would have to be the right thing. It would have to be the right deal and the right program. Not only that, but the money has to be right," he said. [20:18 - 20:25]

Kurt Angle turned down an offer from WWE to manage Matt Riddle
After spending nearly two years in NXT, Matt Riddle debuted on the main roster in June 2020. He spent almost three years competing on SmackDown and RAW before being released from his contract in 2023.
During the same episode, Kurt revealed that he turned down an offer from WWE to return and become Riddle's manager. He mentioned being open to the idea and felt he could have had great chemistry with the star. However, the proposed idea did not come to fruition because the promotion's offer was low and the parties could not agree upon financial terms.
"I feel a little bad about doing this, but a few years ago, WWE wanted me to manage Matt Riddle. And, you know, I was into it. I was like, 'Okay!' because we could have some great vignettes, you know, him being a lot like RVD. So, I think we could have had great chemistry. But it just didn't happen, unfortunately, because they didn't offer me the right amount of money. The money they offered me was really not good," he recalled. [20:28 - 21:13]
Since his release, Angle has made several sporadic appearances in the Stamford-based company. It will be interesting to see if the legendary wrestler re-signs with the promotion in the future in a managerial capacity or otherwise.
