CM Punk and Seth Rollins' heated feud will come to a head when they clash on the premiere of WWE RAW on Netflix. WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested a massive legend could return to help The Best in the World in a "far-fetched" scenario.
The Stamford-based company initially planned to have Punk face Rollins at WrestleMania 40. However, these plans were scrapped after The Best in the World suffered an injury during the Men's Royal Rumble match. The two superstars reignited their feud a few weeks ago, leading to an anticipated square-off next Monday on RAW's debut episode on Netflix.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts addressed multiple potential scenarios for the upcoming clash, including The Rock potentially returning to help Punk defeat his rival after cashing in on the favor Paul Heyman owes him for tagging with the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series. Although the 41-year-old analyst claimed the scenario was possible, he admitted that it was far-fetched:
"Does The Rock have CM Punk's back somehow? I don't know how that would all work but it's possible with the favor. If Rock and Paul Heyman, I don't know. That seems a little far-fetched but there are a million ways that you can go," he said. [20:35 - 20:47]
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
The WWE analyst also addressed Becky Lynch potentially interfering in the match
Becky Lynch last competed in May when she lost a Steel Cage Women's World Championship match to Liv Morgan on Monday Night RAW. She has since left the promotion after her contract expired.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts wondered if The Man could return on RAW's debut on Netflix to help her husband, Seth Rollins, against CM Punk:
"Is Becky Lynch gonna show up? I don't know. I mean, I wouldn't advocate for Becky and Seth being a unit in general just because the last one I don't think was as successful as people might have wanted it to be. But maybe now's the time. Maybe there's a different presentation. Maybe there's a different way of doing it," he said.
Lynch was spotted in Netflix's trailer for Monday Night RAW, seemingly confirming her WWE return. She was also referenced during Punk and Rollins' war of words last night on RAW. It would be interesting to see if she will indeed show up on January 6.
