Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes won the Men's Royal Rumble for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. Wrestling veteran Greg Gagne believes a massive superstar can now win the prestigious bout next year before dethroning The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41.

The superstar in question is John Cena. The 16-time World Champion announced at Money in the Bank that he would be retiring from in-ring competition by the end of next year. Meanwhile, he disclosed that he would compete at Royal Rumble 2024. The 47-year-old won the Men's Royal Rumble Match in 2008 and 2013. He last participated in the high-stakes bout six years ago.

A fan said on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast that Cena should win the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble, dethrone Rhodes at WrestleMania, drop the title at SummerSlam, and then fight the superstars he would like to share the ring with.

Wrestling veteran Greg Gagne acknowledged that the abovementioned scenario could happen. However, he pointed out that he would like the 16-time World Champion to have a better sendoff.

A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE

"That's a possibility but I'd like to see a better sendoff than that," he said. [19:53 - 19:58]

When did John Cena last compete in WWE?

Earlier this year, John Cena surprisingly returned at WrestleMania XL to help Cody Rhodes during the latter's Undisputed WWE Championship match against Roman Reigns. The Cenation Leader interfered to take out Solo Sikoa after the latter attacked The American Nightmare. Nevertheless, The Rock put down the 16-time World Champion with a Rock Bottom.

The following night on Monday Night RAW, the 47-year-old teamed with The Awesome Truth to defeat The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh in a six-man tag team match. Since then, Cena has not competed inside a WWE ring.

Cena and Hall of Famer Ric Flair currently hold the record for most world championship reigns recognized by WWE. It would be interesting to see if the veteran would break that record before retiring from in-ring competition in 2025.
