Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson made his WWE return at Bad Blood last Saturday, six months after pinning Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL Night One, and warning The American Nightmare that he would be back for his title. How The Final Boss factors into The Bloodline Saga bears watching.
Whatever happens, former WWE employee Matt Camp hopes Johnson stays true to his heel persona. Matt also feels wrestlers should not pull back the curtain on their ongoing storylines. He noted how someone like The Rock, a veteran of the wrestling industry, should know better.
While touching upon a bevy of topics on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Matt Camp looked back to the memorable segment involving Cody Rhodes and The Rock on the Road To WrestleMania in March 2024. In it, The Final Boss bloodied The American Nightmare.
The segment was very well-received, and Camp loved it himself. However, the analyst did not like how a few days later, Dwayne Johnson's social media team released a behind-the-scenes cut of the RAW segment.
"We are in a world where the curtain is pulled back all the time. I completely understand that. I don't want people talking about their current storyline, out of character, while it's going on," Matt Camp iterated. "I don't want The Rock going, and here's where we said 'Cut' on this great bloody-rain angle we did." [From 35:08 onwards]

Matt Camp feels Dwayne Johnson's best contribution to WWE in 2024 is as a heel character, and that the wrestler-turned-actor should maintain kayfabe at all times.
Is The Rock going to miss WrestleMania 41?
Since RAW After WrestleMania on April 8, 2024, the WWE Universe has been expecting The Rock to face either Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns at next year's Show of Shows in Paradise, Nevada. There was also a rumor about a potential Triple Threat Match involving all three WWE Superstars.
But there has been an unfortunate update. As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dwayne Johnson has not finalized his schedule for next year over Easter weekend in April. The report also noted that some people backstage were not happy with Johnson as the latter has been seemingly unable to commit to the spectacle.
Be that as it may, plans can always change. There are still six months before WrestleMania 41, and Johnson can easily kickstart his training at some point in the not-too-distant future should he manage to add The Show of Shows to his schedule.
