Matt Cardona had a hilarious thought in response to trash talk by a fellow former WWE Superstar.

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that Cardona will be at NWA Samhain this upcoming Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio. NWA dropped a poster of the pay-per-view event featuring "The Indie God."

Cardona is expected to have a match at the event, but his opponent is currently unknown. He lost his last two matches in NWA against Ricky and Kerry Morton at NWA Tag 1 and 2 back in August.

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

Reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 took a shot at Cardona's poster by saying:

It's unclear what Cardona has planned for Saturday's huge event. As for EC3, he will defend his NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Thom Latimer in a No Limits match.

Matt Cardona open to WWE return

Matt Cardona spent the majority of his career as a WWE Superstar, but many fans believe his best work has come in the past couple of years on the independent circuit. However, Cardona is not opposed to returning to WWE.

In an appearance on Fightful's The Hump podcast, Cardona revealed the two important things needed for his return. Hint: It's not his wife and current WWE superstar Chelsea Green.

"Cash and creative, you know?" Cardona said. "There's no guarantees in wrestling, but I'd need some intention, you know what I'm saying? I don't just want to be another guy on the roster, been there and done that, and nothing against that, but I did that. I'm over it." [H/T Cageside Seats]

Cardona has been on a tear since leaving WWE and is thriving as a main-event player on the independent circuit. In addition to NWA, he is also signed to Major League Wrestling.
