Former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona recently shared the story of how Hornswoggle would sleep in bathtubs on the road to save money.
Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, used to ride with Brian Myers and Hornswoggle during the early part of their careers. In order for them to save money, they would sleep in the same room together.
In an appearance on the Barstool Rasslin' podcast, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed how they would make bunk beds, with Hornswoggle sleeping in bathtubs on the road.
"I've put him in a bathtub," Cardona said. "We used to, when we were saving money on the road, he would sleep in the bathtub. I'm not joking." (h/t WrestleZone).

Cardona further explained that they gave sheets to Hornswoggle, who would have preferred to sleep in a bed. However, they were just starting out on the main roster at the time and wanted to save money.
"He's a small individual, so he'd fit," Cardona added. "I can't fit in a bathtub. Brian Myers couldn't fit. But Swoggle, small individual. I don't think he minded it. I'm sure he would have preferred a bed, but he would have been wasting all that space."

Matt Cardona has three conditions for WWE return
WWE released Matt Cardona after 15 years as part of budget cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Cardona has become one of the independent circuit's top stars. He's also currently signed by the National Wrestling Alliance, as well as Game Changer Wrestling.
In the same appearance on the Barstool Rasslin' podcast, Cardona revealed his three conditions if ever he wants to return to WWE: The money and creative have to be right, and the company will also need to re-hire Steph De Lander, formerly known as Persia Perrota in NXT.
Cardona still has ties with the company despite his release back in 2020. His wife, Chelsea Green, is currently part of Monday Night Raw. Green and her tag team partner Sonya Deville are looking to win the Women's Tag Team Championships.
