Matt Hardy had a couple of lengthy WWE tenures that saw him reach some significant milestones in his career. He opened up about a former WWE champion recently using his move.
Ethan Page has been an incredible talent who won the NXT Championship soon after his WWE debut. The heel has done increasingly well to get fans interested in his work.
In a recent NXT North American Championship match against Tony D’Angelo, Ethan Page brought out Matt Hardy’s signature Twist of Fate out of desperation. The move did not help him win the title.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the former WWE Superstar stated that Page sought his permission before using his finisher.
"He texted me that day just like out of respect like 'Hey, I'm thinking about doing this and maybe doing the Twist in my match.' I said 'Yeah, of course man, go nuts. I'm totally happy with you doing it,'" Matt recalled. "Because even at the end of the day the way it works if someone uses it and they don't beat them, then I just do it better. It works for me every time. I was cool with that and I wish nothing but the best for him," Hardy said.
The loss to Tony D’Angelo created many doubts in Ethan Page’s mind. However, it only ended in his turning more bitter and attacking an unsuspecting Je’Von Evans on a recent edition of NXT.
Matt Hardy hopes to see the best of Ethan Page in WWE
Ethan Page has proven himself at the highest level in NXT in a very short period. It looks like the star will get a major push soon that could land him on the main roster early.
Matt Hardy talked about his views on the star’s performance. He noted that Page did not get to showcase himself in AEW, but he could make it big in the Stamford-based promotion.
"I'm just so proud of him. I'm so happy for him because he's living his dream. There were so many people that doubted him at AEW. He never got that chance to fully flourish like he could," Matt Hardy concluded. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
It would be great to see Matt return to WWE for a final run. He could get into a rivalry with the Egoistic star and push him forward on the roster.
