'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes is one of the busiest men in pro wrestling as the Undisputed WWE Champion. During a recent interview, Cody Rhodes expressed interest in seeing Conor McGregor in WWE and the MMA legend has responded positively.

The Notorious One hasn't fought inside the Octagon since 2021 despite coming close to competing on multiple occasions. Conor McGregor remains a popular and charismatic personality and many have always considered him tailor-made for professional wrestling, including Rhodes.

During a recent interview with The Schmo, Rhodes urged McGregor to "dip his toes" and explore the sports entertainment side of combat sports.

Cody spoke about the competitive environment in WWE and believed Conor McGregor had enough experience fighting on grand stages to effortlessly transition to the squared circle.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

McGregor caught wind of Rhodes' comments and hinted at arriving in WWE, as you can view below:

"The Schmo and the undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes enjoying themselves some smooth @ProperWhiskey ! CLASS PERSONIFIED! Love it Cody, see you soon 👀."

The WWE Superstar also acknowledged McGregor's tweet:

Cody Rhodes is preparing for a special WWE Crown Jewel match

He has been the Undisputed WWE Champion since WrestleMania 40 and overcame multiple obstacles to hold onto the prestigious belt.

At Crown Jewel, though, Cody's title won't be on the line as he and Gunther will compete for the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship.

The champion vs. champion match has been pushed considerably on TV, with both Rhodes and Gunther engaging in intense segments. This past week on SmackDown, the world champions came to blows, leading to a massive tag team match being announced for a taped SmackDown episode.

Gunther vs. Rhodes is a special attraction showdown that will undoubtedly be a solid bell-to-bell affair between two of the best in the world. However, only one man will walk out as the first WWE Crown Jewel Champion.
