WWE commentator Michael Cole has taken a hilarious shot at a fellow RAW star ahead of tonight's show. This week's RAW is the final episode before SummerSlam this Saturday night in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ahead of tonight's edition of the red brand, Michael Cole took to social media to mock Pat McAfee. The former NFL punter calls the action every Monday night alongside Cole and has been getting mysterious packages from the Wyatt Sicks in recent weeks. Cole shared an image of Bobby Roode and Pat McAfee posing together backstage.
McAfee claimed that he and Roode were both NXT legends, and Cole responded by taking a shot at him. You can check out the hilarious post by clicking here.
"2 NXT LEGENDS” says the a**hole @PatMcAfeeShow I can’t believe him and his dumb group of friends are in WWE2K," wrote Cole.
Pat McAfee also hosts a daily talk show on ESPN and recently inked a new deal with the company to remain a part of the broadcast team for College GameDay.
Michael Cole discloses who he believes will replace him in WWE
RAW star Michael Cole has been calling the action for years and has become known as "The Voice of WWE." The veteran recently shared that he believes Corey Graves will ultimately be his replacement in the company.
Corey Graves currently works alongside Wade Barrett on the SmackDown commentary team. In an interview with Awful Announcing earlier this year, Cole named Graves as his replacement down the line. He noted that Graves learned a lot from working with him over the years and has been "killing it" on WWE television.
"[It was] a matter of giving him the opportunity to sit side by side for many years, to watch, learn, study, and see how I do things. And at the end of the day, when we gave him the shot? He’s been killing it. I believe he’s the heir apparent," he said. [H/T to WrestleZone]
The company recently hired ESPN announcer Joe Tessitore as a member of the broadcast team, but the 53-year-old has not appeared on RAW or SmackDown yet. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the company's commentary team and if McAfee will be going on hiatus at the start of the college football season.
