Michael Cole has hilariously mocked a popular WWE star ahead of tonight's edition of RAW. This week's show is the first episode of the red brand following WWE King and Queen of the Ring this past Saturday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Pat McAfee referred to The Ring General as a "fake" King of the Ring due to the controversial finish against Randy Orton in the finals of the tournament at the premium live event. McAfee apparently tried to smooth things over with Gunther ahead of tonight's RAW.
Michael Cole took to his official X/Twitter account to share a photo of the conversation and mocked McAfee for trying to talk his way out of it. He also referred to McAfee as "Kiss A** Pat" and you can check out the post by clicking here.
"So @PatMcAfeeShow called @Gunther_AUTa “fake” king because of the controversial ending on Saturday.. the King of the ring overheard him and wasn’t pleased. Now Kiss A** Pat is trying to talk his way out of it #ChopCity #WWERaw," wrote Cole.
Gunther defeated Randy Orton to win the King of the Ring Tournament at the premium live event over the weekend. However, the match had a controversial finish in which Orton's shoulders did not appear to be down for the pinfall.
Triple H has already hinted at a rematch and has also confirmed that The Viper is banged up following the match.
Michael Cole reveals who he wants to replace him in WWE
Michael Cole has named who he believes will serve as his replacement in the company once he steps away from calling the action.
In an interview with Awful Announcing earlier this year, the veteran named Corey Graves as the person he thinks will become the new "Voice of WWE" once he retires. He added that Graves has been finding his voice and has a tremendous opportunity ahead of him.
"Corey now has a Corey Graves Voice. A lot of the issues we had were that we tried to develop commentators to be Michael Cole," he admitted. "Now we have a chance to develop Corey Graves. I truly, honestly believe he’s going to be the one to replace me. He’s an incredible human being. He has a great opportunity," he said.
Michael Cole has been with WWE since 1997 as a broadcaster but has also competed in a few matches for the promotion. It will be interesting to see if Cole calls out McAfee for his meeting with Gunther during tonight's edition of RAW.
