WWE legend Mick Foley is known for his signature hardcore matches. While his bouts were infamous for their gory nature, he recently shared a heartwarming moment with his fans as he reunited with a 7-foot athlete.

Mick Foley visited a wrestling convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he met several prominent people. This also included Paul ‘The Big Show’ Wight. The World’s Largest Athlete and Foley have fought each other. Now, the duo shared the frame on Instagram.

While Foley wrote some good words for everyone, he finished his caption with a special nod to The Big Show.

“…oh yeah, and I ran into the great @paulwight! It was a “Big Show” this past weekend to say the least.”

The Hardcore Legend and The Big Show last appeared together 12 years ago at the Royal Rumble, which was Foley’s last match. Before this, he had fought several iconic matches.

However, one of his most memorable match's biggest highlights had started as a joke.

When Mick Foley turned a joke into reality

Mick Foley has had several feuds, including one with The Undertaker. At 1998 King of the Ring, Mankind and The Phenom entered a Hell in a Cell match.

Interestingly, Mankind had climbed to the top of the cage and was thrown by The Deadman from the top onto the Spanish commentators' table. Following this, he climbed the cage again, only to be chokeslammed into the ring.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated in a recent interview, Mick Foley revealed that he followed through with his plan to reach the top because fellow superstar Terry Funk had suggested it as a joke.

“Terry said the only way I could compete with what The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels accomplished in the very first Hell in a Cell match was to start the match on top of the cage,” said Mick Foley. “It began as a joke, but by the end, neither of us were laughing. And then I started thinking that was exactly what I should do,” Foley said.

Foley had built a name for himself owing to these extreme measures, which especially appealed to fans who wanted more hardcore action.

Currently, Mankind is still connected to WWE under the 'Legends' program, working as an ambassador of the promotion. It would be interesting to see if he can use his influence to mold new talent.
