WWE Superstar, MVP, is expected to leave the Stamford-based wrestling promotion after his contract reportedly expires in mid-August. Amid rumors of his potential exit from the company, the 50-year-old made a surprising public appearance.
Amid his absence from WWE television, the former United States Champion underwent stem cell treatment in the hope of getting back to the squared circle. His last in-ring appearance was in July 2022. He teamed up with Omos to lock horns with The Street Profits in a tag team match in a losing cause.
Montel Vontavious Porter recently made a public appearance at the NYC Tattoo and Arts Convention after Triple H refused to share an update regarding his contract situation. MVP joined American band, Orange 9MM, on the stage to perform their iconic track 'Sacrifice.' The organizers posted a clip from the performance on Instagram.
"Orange 9MM “Sacrifice” featuring @the305mvp live at the NYC Tattoo and Arts Convention at Terminal 5, NYC 2024," read the caption.

WWE veteran shares honest take on MVP's faction, The Hurt Business
MVP aligned himself with Bobby Lashley to form The Hurt Business in 2020. The faction soon added Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander as new members. Unfortunately, the stable was disbanded in 2022, and the former Tag Team Champion then joined forces with Omos.
On a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, former WWE head writer, Vince Russo, revealed why despite its popularity, The Hurt Business, failed to really make a mark.
The veteran mentioned that the creative team could have used the group to educate people about the Black Lives Matter movement, considering the stable was formed at the height of the protests. However, the promotion ignored the opportunity, making Russo claim it was a major "miss from the get-go."
"This is where it was a miss from the get-go. Bro, they started The Hurt Business during the height of Black Lives Matter. Now, here is the thing. Chris, you know better than anybody, especially for white people; there was a great misunderstanding of what Black Lives Matter really was. That was the perfect opportunity to tell that story and to explain that story, and to educate people [...] And who would have been better than MVP? They totally ignored it," he said. [7:28 onwards]

Montel Vontavious Porter and Bobby Lashley look set to part ways with the wrestling promotion like their former stablemate Shelton Benjamin, who was released from the company last year. It remains to be seen if the three will reunite as The Hurt Business outside WWE.
