A popular tag team finally turned heel on WWE SmackDown tonight. They controversially won the WWE Tag Team Championship.

DIY has had its fair share of ups and downs in recent years. The duo of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have broken up and gotten back together so many times in the past in their journey in WWE.

It looked like DIY was headed for another split after Ciampa was visibly frustrated with his tag team partner's friendship with Motor City Machine Guns. Ciampa even gave Gargano an ultimatum last week on the blue brand.

Tonight on WWE SmackDown, Street Profits were set to challenge Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championship but were attacked mysteriously backstage. Johnny Gargano volunteered to step in and challenge Motor City Machine Guns.

During the match, Gargano and Ciampa were constantly bickering with each other. Things got heated and both men shoved each other. Ciampa then went and grabbed a chair. But the referee stopped him from bringing it to the ring. This distraction allowed Gargano to hit Chris Sabin with a low blow. When Alex Shelley confronted him, he was hit with a Superkick. DIY then hit the Meet in the Middle to capture the tag titles.

It will be interesting to see what this means for the tag team division as both Motor City Machine Guns and Street Profits will be looking for DIY.
