In a sudden ending to a huge match, a new champion has now been crowned on WWE RAW. This made for a historic moment on the show after it debuted on Netflix.
Heading into the match, Dakota Kai had opened up about how much it meant to her to be the first-ever Intercontinental Champion for the women in WWE. For Lyra Valkyria, it was no less important, with the star ready to give her all to be the champion. The match started fast with both stars showing that they were not about to back down. Valkyria and Kai were both determined.
Both women looked like they could win at different points of what was a largely even contest. However, when the ending came, it was sudden. Valkyria hit the Nightwing out of nowhere after previously having rolled out of the ring when hit with a GTK. Kai was within touching distance of becoming the first-ever champion, but instead, it was Valkyria who took home the victory.
This was historical, as it meant that the first-ever Women's Intercontinental Champion had been crowned in WWE. In the past, Chyna has held the Intercontinental Title, which was the men's belt.
