Trick Williams defended his NXT Championship against Eddy Thorpe on the latest episode of WWE NXT. The match had a controversial finish, and it seems like a new champion was crowned.
During the bout, Thorpe hit his opponent with a crossbody and a few kicks in the corner. Trick took him out with a pop-up KO punch and got a two-count. He hit Eddy Thorpe with a dropkick but was booted out of the ring to the floor. The challenger hit the champion with another kick in the ring.
Eddy Thorpe went for a crossbody and the two stars collided in a double crossbody. Trick hit a few punches and a jumping clothesline followed by a flatliner and a uranagi for a two-count. Eddy performed a suplex and an elbow drop. The two WWE stars traded shots and Thorpe hit a kick before running into a kick from Williams.
Trick planted his opponent with a fireman's carry slam but Eddy Thorpe slammed him into the referee, knocking out the WWE official. Eddy hit Trick with a running knee to the face and went for another one but got caught with the jumping knee. Trick Williams fell on Eddy and both referees counted the three while both stars' shoulders were on the mat.
There's a slight chance a new champion could be crowned, but it's also possible that Trick could retain. It'll be interesting to see what pans out.
