Mishaps are sometimes unavoidable in pro wrestling. This week on SmackDown, a spot seemingly went wrong, leading to Nia Jax getting busted open. Dutch Mantell has now explained why it was all an accident.

It's a common practice for certain wrestling matches to feature blood and gore to enhance a personal feud or showdown with a stipulation.

However, the latest SmackDown episode's main event might not have needed any bloodshed whatsoever. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae challenged Bianca Belair and Naomi for the Women's Tag Team titles, and it seemed like Jax busted herself open due to a ring post spot.

While Dutch didn't get a proper view of Jax's head injury, Mantell was sure that the bleeding wasn't planned and that it was just an unfortunate incident that often happened inside the squared circle.

Dutch Mantell noted that WWE doesn't want blood in women's matches and felt the talents wouldn't agree to do it regularly. He explained while reacting to Jax's apparent accident:

"Yes, I saw this and I went, is she cut there? And I saw this from a long shot, while she was lying on the mat, I didn't see it up close? Well, she was opened up a little bit. No, that was an accident. Do you know why it was an accident? First of all, it's a female match, they don't do that. Second of all, who wants to see that anyway? What women would agree to do that anyway?" [1:00:30 onwards]

Nia Jax wasn't just unsuccessful in adding another title to her collection, but unluckily also walked away from SmackDown with an unwanted bruise.
