On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE United States Champion LA Knight got into trouble for his actions in the ring. Andrade and Carmelo Hayes were booked to wrestle for the tie-breaking seventh time, and The Megastar was the special guest referee for the match. The winner was promised a title shot against Knight.

The match ended chaotically as Hayes’s Superkick, aimed at Andrade, connected with LA Knight, which enraged the champion, and he ended up delivering both superstars a BFT each and abandoned the bout. Following this, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis informed The Megastar that due to his actions, he would have to defend his United States Championship in a Triple-Threat match against both men at Crown Jewel 2024.

Nick Aldis broke his silence on punishing LA Knight despite him being champion recently. The SmackDown General Manager expressed his thoughts on X/Twitter.

“Cause & Effect. A universal law that is undeniable and unavoidable, even for LA Knight. Triple Threat match for the United States Championship at WWE Crown Jewel,” Nick Aldis wrote.

LA Knight captured the WWE United States Championship earlier this year, defeating The Maverick Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024. Since then, Paul has not made a single television appearance.

By announcing the LA Knight match at Crown Jewel 2024, Triple H may have broken a major rule

The Crown Jewel Premium Live Event looks stacked. Triple H has seemingly broken a major streak for the Saudi event that he followed passionately through the year – booking only five matches at PLEs, except at the ‘Big Four' in the Stamford-based promotion.

On last week’s SmackDown, other than the Triple-Threat match for the United States Championship, WWE announced two more massive matches: Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens in singles action and the Women’s Tag Team Title match, where reigning champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will be defending their gold in a Four-Way Tag match against IYO SKY and Kairi Sane, Piper Niven and Chelsea Green, and Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.

The WWE Universe will have to wait and see if this will be regular hereafter or if Triple H reverts to his usual booking for the other PLEs.
