SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has issued a statement after the shocking events that transpired at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. During the show's main event, Cody Rhodes successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. The match ended in a rather controversial manner as the referee was accidentally knocked out multiple times.
At one point, Kevin Owens had Cody Rhodes pinned for a three-count, but Charles Robinson was unconscious outside the ring. When the referee finally gained consciousness, Owens was out courtesy of Rhodes' Cross Rhodes onto the steel chair.
After the match, a disgruntled Canadian star launched a brutal attack on The American Nightmare and hit him with a package piledriver, the same banned move he used to put Randy Orton out of commission.
As a result of his actions, Cody Rhodes had to be stretchered out of the arena into an ambulance. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens stole his Undisputed WWE title and got into an altercation with Triple H before leaving the building.
Moments later, Nick Aldis asked the security team to keep an eye on The Prizefighter.
"Cody [Rhodes] everything's going to be okay, buddy. Take it easy. Somebody keep eyes on [Kevin] Owens. I'm serious," Aldis said.
Kevin Owens once again landed himself in hot water with management.
Will he face repercussions for his actions at Saturday Night's Main Event? Fans must tune into SmackDown next week to find out.
