Nick Aldis made a major announcement ahead of the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown. Tonight's episode of the blue brand is shaping up to be an eventful one.

Ahead of tonight's show, the promotion shared a new video featuring a major announcement from Nick Aldis. The SmackDown General Manager revealed that there will be a massive Triple Threat Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship next Friday night in Nashville, Tennessee.

"Let's do something special for the good folks in Music City, and I've come up with this. Next week on SmackDown, live from Nashville, Tennessee, it will be a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. That is right, The Bloodline will defend against #DIY and The Street Profits. The tag team titles will be suspended high above the ring, winner takes all, next week only on SmackDown," said Aldis. Real-life Bloodline member reacts to major WWE SmackDown segment

Afa Anoa'i Jr. recently shared his thoughts on the promo between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes last Friday night on SmackDown.

Rhodes and Reigns met at Georgia Tech during last week's edition of the blue brand to discuss their upcoming Tag Team Match against The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa at Bad Blood on October 5. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Anoa'i Jr. noted that the segment reminded him of when he and Reigns were both football players.

"Once upon a time back when we were in high school and college, myself and Roman Reigns were both Division One football players. I was a US Army All-American. I chose to play ball [at] University of Connecticut, Roman went to Georgia Tech. Our freshman year, 2004, Yukon played at Georgia Tech. So it was Anoa'i vs. Anoa'i back in 2004 in that stadium. That just got put back on the map because of the promo," he said.

Bayley is set to square off against Naomi tonight on SmackDown, with the winner earning a WWE Women's Championship match against Nia Jax at Bad Blood. The Role Model sent a message to Naomi earlier today ahead of their bout on the blue brand.
