Nick Aldis has been in the middle of a very impressive run as the SmackDown General Manager. Not only has he shown he can play the role of an authority figure, he has also brought a calmness to it that not too many people possess. However, the GM has now reacted to hearing another top name speaking about potentially returning from retirement after 10 years.
While Nick Aldis never retired and just transitioned to a role as a General Manager when he arrived in WWE, his counterpart on RAW, Adam Pearce, retired from in-ring competition back in 2014. Since then, he has been working as a trainer, producer, and now GM of WWE RAW. Recently, speaking about an in-ring return to face Nick Aldis, he hinted that he'd be open to the idea, without saying the exact words.
Now, Aldis has reacted to Pearce's hints and has spoken about whether he would like to return to the ring again and face RAW's GM. He spoke about respecting his 46-year-old counterpart and hinted that this was a match that he could be more than open to.
He also posted a picture of himself at the gym, presumably to show that he was physically ready for such a return.

"After much deliberation I have decided to respond to this post by my Raw counterpart. We both enjoyed a decorated tenure in our careers before WWE; there is no doubt you & I respect the legacy and tradition of our industry. So you're asking if I would step in the ring with you?... Time will tell," he wrote.

Adam Pearce came close to saying he would return from his retirement to face Nick Aldis
For those wondering what exactly Adam Pearce had to say, he spoke about how he had thought about returning for a match.
He hinted at that bout, but just before it was time for him to give a yes or no answer, the video cut off, leaving fans in doubt as to what the WWE RAW General Manager's decision was.
"I've thought about it a lot, and I said I'd never angle for a match, and I won't. But if you are asking me to be honest, would I come back to active wrestling and face Nick Aldis? The short answer is..." said Pearce.
