Recently, Nikki Bella admitted to a fan that she would indeed be going away from the WWE, but just for some time.

In case you didn’t know...

On the latest episode of SmackDown LIVE, John Cena openly admitted that he would be taking time off after ‘Mania to shoot for his movie and would return very soon.

Nikki Bella had suffered a horrible neck injury in 2015 and had spent almost 10 months on the shelf. She returned to last year’s SummerSlam where she filled in for Eva Marie in the SmackDown women’s 6-man tag match.

Though she was cleared for in-ring competition, Nikki changed her finisher and took other preventative measures to avoid any stress on her weakened neck.

In the last few days, there were numerous reports and rumours about Nikki retiring after WrestleMania 33 due to her neck injuries.

The heart of the matter

Nikki Bella provided confirmation to a fan about her and Cena taking a hiatus after WrestleMania 33.

She said that Cena is leaving to shoot for “The Pact” and she will take time off to let her neck heal. She also assured that there was no serious concern regarding the injury but due to some complications in the region, she won’t risk exerting it.

John Cena and Nikki Bella will face the Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33 this Sunday in Orlando, Florida.

Author’s Take

John Cena and Nikki Bella are currently the topmost Superstars of the SmackDown brand. Their absence will be a huge loss to the blue brand and will be difficult to cope up with.

However, we support Nikki’s decision of taking time off as nothing should be given a higher priority than any performer’s health. We hope to see them back on our television sets soon.
