"One thousand percent" - WWE veteran says 33-year-old star is the new Sasha Banks (Mercedes Moné) [Exclusive]

It has been over two years since Sasha Banks, now going by Mercedes Moné, competed inside the WWE ring. While the CEO is thriving outside the global juggernaut, Vince Russo believes that Triple H and Co. are shaping up Zelina Vega as Sasha's replacement.

The 33-year-old has been a prominent part of TV programming over the last few weeks. She also challenged Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship recently but was unable to get across the line. Vega is currently involved in a feud with the group of Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler. She was attacked by the heel faction on RAW last night.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo stated that he believes WWE is giving so much on-screen time to Zelina Vega because they see her as the next Sasha Banks (Mercedes Moné).

"You know what they’re trying to do? Here's what they are trying to do- Zelina Vega is now Sasha Banks. Exactly what they are trying to do, bro. One thousand percent." [59:45 onwards]

Mercedes Moné left WWE on a controversial note in 2022. After months of inactivity, she returned to action in January 2023. The CEO is currently a part of All Elite Wrestling.
