WWE is moving forward with its new era after the first full year under Endeavor, which has been a massive success for the company. Paul Heyman is still integral to WWE's behind-the-scenes and on-screen operations, as he has been through multiple eras. The Hall of Famer has just issued public comments on backstage rumors and speculation on what he does off-screen.

In recent years, The Wiseman has served as the must-have mouthpiece and manager to established WWE Superstars, including The Bloodline, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk, among others. There have been reports on Heyman with rising stars such as The Judgment Day, Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, and those in NXT, among others.

Heyman has continued working backstage during the five-month on-screen hiatus he just returned from. Speaking to SHAK Wrestling, the former ECW boss was asked how involved he's been while absent this year. He revealed that he's invested in guys like Breakker, Priest, Bronson Reed, Gunther, and members of The Bloodline, and he's done so because rising stars need veterans to lean on as events are taking place.

"It's no secret because if you read some of the interviews that have been done with a number of people... be it Bron Breakker, Damian Priest, Bronson Reed, Jey Uso... it's no secret that I've been working in, or Gunther, and concentrating on, and working with a lot of the young talent backstage, and I love doing it because there are so few veterans that are available at their disposal," Paul Heyman said. The former Paul E. Dangerously continued:

"Right there during the show, for instant feedback, for that last moment before they go through the curtain, some observation of what could make the segment better... and I've survived this industry long enough, now I'm the old guy. So, I'm the old guy that they come to because it's like... 'Pass some wisdom onto me, old guy!' and I'm like, 'Maybe if you do it this way...' So, that's what I've become, just the sensei, if for no other reason but because I have survived so many generations," Paul Heyman said. [From 5:25 to 6:06]

Heyman is one of a few people who have regularly worked on creative plans for Roman Reigns and The Bloodline in recent years. Despite his on-screen absence, Heyman was on-site to direct the recent viral vignette between Reigns and Cody Rhodes at Georgia Tech to build to Bad Blood.

Backstage update on Paul Heyman's WWE role

Paul Heyman has been a key member of the WWE roster and backstage teams for several years. The ECW Original continues to help the company in a major way and was honored for his career as the 2024 Hall of Fame headliner back in April.

According to a previous report from Ringside News, The Wiseman has been serving as a respected liaison between the wrestlers, Triple H, and the writing team. Sources noted then that the former Dangerous Alliance leader was actively coaching WWE talents on promos in terms of body language, delivery, and script interpretation.

Regarding his role as the liaison between talents, WWE's Chief Content Officer, and the writing team, word is that Heyman also collaborates with the writers. It was also said that newcomers from NXT to the main roster are benefiting from Heyman's forty-six years of industry experience.
