He finally began his WWE run, and based on the early reactions, Penta's debut on RAW seems like a big success. While Vince Russo also found it fine, the former writer felt one issue needed to be addressed moving forward.

The former AEW star's first night in the WWE was built up for weeks without him being directly mentioned on TV. When he did arrive this week, Penta instantly looked like someone the promotion thought highly about as he made a grand entrance before putting on a pretty impressive match against Chad Gable.

After defeating Gable, Penta cut a passionate and inspiring promo about his well-deserved opportunity in the WWE and how Mexicans everywhere could achieve their dreams.

Like many others, Vince Russo felt Penta's debut was executed well. On Legion of RAW, the former WCW Champion noted that the newly signed star had a character that would draw people's attention.

Russo had no issues with the presentation but stressed that having long matches during the new era on Netflix was a mistake. As he mentioned last week, WWE is leaning towards having fewer but extended bouts.

Vince understood that while many fans would love to see protracted matches, he wasn't too enthusiastic about the practice.

"But listen man, it was a good debut for Penta: a very colorful character, a lot of emotion in the promo after the match. Obviously, the marks are going to gaga over however long this match was, but again, bro, I said that; that's going to be the key, man. Long matches are going to be the key... But you know me, Chris, and this is just me. The match was just way too long for me." [From 21:24 onwards]

If his booking on RAW was any indication, Penta could be fast-tracked to superstardom after getting a rousing reception on his debut, and all eyes will now be on Triple H and the booking team as they plot the ideal creative path for the 39-year-old.
