WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio did not have much of a role tonight on RAW, other than an interview where he put Penta over. It seemed like next week would have been more eventful for the masked legend, but that remains up in the air.

The New Day berated Mysterio and announced that they would be in action next Monday on RAW. Their opponents weren't announced, but that wasn't the original plan. The tag team match wasn't planned either, with a singles bout initially penciled in.

Sources close to Sportskeeda Wrestling have revealed that WWE planned to announce Kofi Kingston (14-time tag team, four-time Intercontinental, three-time United States, former NXT Tag Team, and former WWE Champion) vs. Rey Mysterio for RAW next week. However, that has now been scrapped in favor of The New Day facing an unannounced team. The reason for the change isn't known.

It remains to be seen what Mysterio and The LWO will do next, as their feud with Kingston and Xavier Woods carries on.
