Two current champions turned heel last week. They explained their actions tonight on WWE SmackDown.

DIY has been going through some issues for the past few weeks on SmackDown. Most of these were because Tommaso Ciampa couldn't stand the fact that they could not regain the WWE Tag Team Championship. He wasn't pleased with Gargano's friendship with Motor City Machine Guns and even gave his tag partner an ultimatum.

Last week on WWE SmackDown, Street Profits were supposed to face Motor City Machine Guns but were attacked backstage. As a result, Johnny Gargano and Ciampa took their place. During the match, DIY was bickering, but it turned out to be a ruse as Gargano hit Alex Shelley with a low blow and picked up the win and the titles.

Tonight on the blue brand, DIY explained their controversial actions from last week. Gargano said that they were screwed out of the tag titles by the Bloodline in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and he made a promise that day that he would do anything to regain the titles. That is why he did what he did last week. Ciampa then said that Motor City Machine Guns jumped to the front and took their spot, but they were always two steps ahead, and that's why they are the two-time tag team champions.

It will be interesting to see if Motor City Machine Guns will get a rematch after last week's match.
