A WWE Superstar recently tried to hit Randy Orton with his own finisher, the RKO. The name in question is Tommaso Ciampa, who was recently drafted to SmackDown along with his #DIY partner Johnny Gargano.

The Viper returned to SmackDown last week to help Kevin Owens fight off The Bloodline. The former Universal Champion had earlier lost to Solo Sikoa in the main event of the show. On the other hand, the returning Orton's previous in-ring appearance was in a losing cause in the final of the King and the Ring Tournament against Gunther.

Ahead of this week's edition of WWE's blue brand's show, Johnny Gargano shared a hilarious video on social media. In the clip posted on X/Twitter, Tommaso Ciampa can be seen attempting to hit Randy Orton with an RKO outside the ring in an empty arena after a discussion with his teammate. Unfortunately for Ciampa, the former world champion got out of the way.

WWE Superstar Randy Orton opens up about his insane body transformation following his return from injury

Randy Orton returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames last year after being sidelined from in-ring action following an injury for about eighteen months. On his road to recovery, The Apex Predator put on more muscle and appears to be in the best physical shape of his entire career.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated following his return, Orton spoke about his insane body transformation. He credited his putting on the extra weight to a change in his diet. The Viper pointed out that following a successful surgery, he was able to work on his body without suffering from any pain within six months:

"I had the surgery, things were going well, and I changed my diet—and I started packing on a few pounds. About six months post-surgery, I was able to do things in the gym that I hadn’t been able to do my entire 30s. I was able to start working on my glutes, my hamstrings, and my lower back, and I had no pain. Man, I went from 240 pounds to 280. I’m 275 right now, and I feel fu**ing fantastic! I feel like I was meant to be this heavy my whole life, but my frame wasn’t able to sustain it until this fusion," he said. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

Randy Orton has lost all the matches at premium live events, barring the one at WarGames following his return from injury. The veteran performer would hope for a change in fortune as superstars gear up for WWE Money in the Bank.
