At one point during the contest, AJ seemingly injured his knee and couldn't continue wrestling. Styles was seen limping on his way to the back shortly after. It was later revealed that his ankle was severely injured.
Carmelo Hayes later took to Twitter and took a massive shot at AJ Styles. Check out his tweet below:
WWE commentator Corey Graves opened up about the injury and had the following to say:
"Where we're speculating where we think the injury may have occurred, AJ coming up... yeah that could have been it right there. And this is where everything went south. AJ unable to support his own weight, drives Hayes down on it."
As per the update on AJ Styles, his ankle is badly injured. He received a loud pop from the fans in attendance when he made his way to the ring on SmackDown. His fans are hoping that the injury he suffered tonight doesn't take him out of action for long.
