WWE Superstar Randy Orton is set for a World Heavyweight Championship match at Bash in Berlin. Meanwhile, amid recent speculation about his contract status, The Legend Killer has confirmed that he has signed a new long-term contract with the company, ensuring his continued presence in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut for years to come. The 14-time WWE World Champion also seemingly addressed the possibility of a feud with Cody Rhodes.
The Viper previously signed a contract with WWE in 2019, which was initially set to expire later this year. However, due to his 18-month hiatus from the ring, the exact status of his contract became uncertain.
During an interview with Vicente Beltran of MARCA ahead of Bash in Berlin, Randy Orton officially confirmed that he had extended his tenure with WWE by signing a new five-year contract.
Meanwhile, last week on RAW, Orton confronted The Ring General and challenged the latter to a World Heavyweight Championship match at Bash in Berlin. During the same conversation, The Apex Predator explained why he's pursuing Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship instead of Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Title.

The veteran noted that he had no immediate plans to rush into a high-profile feud with The American Nightmare. With a renewed contract in place, the 44-year-old claimed there's ample time to explore various storylines and rivalries in the future.
"I know you're alluding to Cody [Rhodes] and the title he is holding right now, and maybe I wanted to get my hands on that, but I have talked about how I've been doing this for a long time. I'm going to continue to be doing it for a much longer time. I just signed a five-year extension, so I don't need to hurry up and get anything done. I've got all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned," Randy said. [H/T: Marca.com]
Randy Orton took out Gunther for taking personal shots on WWE RAW
On the August 12 edition of Monday Night RAW, The Ring General and The Viper came face-to-face in a promo battle segment. While Orton claimed that he would become a 15-time World Champion at Bash in Berlin, Gunther dismissed The Apex Predator as a wasted potential.
Later, the World Heavyweight Champion labeled Orton's grandfather and father as "s***w-ups." This provocation led to Randy Orton attacking Gunther with an RKO out of nowhere.
It will be interesting to see how the rivalry between The Apex Predator and The Ring General evolves ahead of their showdown in Berlin.
